What does a Hairstylist do?
A hairstylist is tasked with creating character hairstyles by styling and maintaining actors’ hair on set during filming. During pre-production, they go through teleplays to develop and test cuts, hair color, and designs. They also prepare and maintain wigs and other hairpieces. Some hairstylists also work as makeup artists.

According to Ziprecruiter, Hairstylists make a national average of $41,851 or $20.12 an hour (as of March 2022). Entry-level hairstylists make around $27,421 annually, with senior-level hairstylists making $50,455. Of course, this wide range also depends on skill, seniority, company, and location.
